Permits for the 2023 Archery Deer hunt will be issued using a LOTTERY system.

 

Liberty Hunt for Youth – Archery ONLY

Continuing this year, MCRRC is participating in the Liberty hunt. This hunt takes place on September 9 and 10 and is free of charge. Please see Youth Hunting Rules 23 for rules and information.

 

Archery Deer Hunting

Permits for the 2023 Archery Deer hunt will be issued using a LOTTERY system.

The application period for this year is now closed.

If your name was drawn, our staff will be calling in the order drawn to get your zone preference.

The MANDATORY meeting to pick up your permit will be Wednesday, September 13 at 9:00 AM at the RRC Administration building, 698 N Maple Island Rd.


 

Managed Waterfowl Hunt

The Michigan DNR through the local State Game Area, has managed a waterfowl hunt at the Wastewater plant during mid- October through mid-December since 1979. Again, this year, the hunt will continue through the mid-November period.  Interested parties should contact the local office at 231-788-5055 or email Nik Kalejs

 


 

Trapping

Trapping is permitted by lottery, primarily to protect the System dikes and ditches from erosion. Find out more.
